Sunday NFL Showdown: Your FREE Winning Picks Await!!

In a highly anticipated Sunday matchup, the Dallas Cowboys (4-2) are gearing up to return from their bye week as they prepare to host the Los Angeles Rams (3-4). The Cowboys are coming off a resounding rebound, having secured a 20-17 victory over the Chargers in their most recent outing after a demoralizing loss to San Francisco. On the flip side, the Rams have encountered some turbulence lately, with two losses in their last three games, including a 24-17 setback against the Steelers.

Positioned at second place in the NFC East, the Cowboys are eager to maintain their momentum. As for the Rams, they find themselves in the third spot within the NFC West, seeking to regain their footing.

This highly anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys, currently enjoying the favor of oddsmakers, are favored by a 6-point spread, with the over/under set at 45.5 points, according to the SportsLine consensus.

The Cowboys are in a favorable spot, having benefited from a well-timed bye week following their victory over the Chargers in Week 6. Their previous game showcased their resilience, as they clinched a 20-17 win, securing it with 10 fourth-quarter points, including a game-winning field goal with just 2:23 remaining. Star quarterback Dak Prescott delivered his finest performance of the season, amassing 272 passing yards and a crucial touchdown.

The Cowboys' running game, led by the dynamic Tony Pollard, has been a significant asset this season. Pollard has notched 70 rushing yards on three separate occasions, including an impressive 122-yard performance against Arizona last month. So far, he's spearheaded the rushing attack, amassing 370 yards and two touchdowns on 96 carries, maintaining an impressive average of nearly four yards per carry.

On the other hand, the Rams have been grappling with inconsistency, posting a 5-13 record in their last 18 games, including a concerning 2-8 record in their most recent 10 road games.

In our analysis, we foresee the Dallas Cowboys emerging victorious in this matchup by a margin of seven points, effectively covering the 6.5-point spread.

In this highly anticipated New York grudge match, the Jets open as a field goal favorite, designated as the visiting team, and that line has subsequently shifted to -2.5 at select sportsbooks as of Thursday morning.

The Jets are entering this matchup with newfound momentum, having secured an impressive victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. This marked their second consecutive win, and they have been propelled by a formidable defense that has been nothing short of impressive.

Conversely, the Giants had a slow start to the 2023 season but displayed a resurgence against the rival Washington Commanders in their most recent outing. The Giants' aggressive pass rush exploited a vulnerable Commanders offensive line, accumulating six sacks. Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor played a pivotal role, throwing for 279 yards and two touchdowns in the 14-7 victory, where they stood as 3-point home underdogs.

According to my NFL power ratings, this game mirrors a 3-point spread. In addition, early betting trends from Covers Consensus reveal that 62% of early picks favor the Jets, marking a growing sentiment as we approach the weekend. However, it's important to note that the Giants continue to contend with various injuries throughout their depth chart.

This New York rivalry hinges on a defensive showdown, with each team seeking to impose its will on the other. Consequently, it comes as no surprise that this matchup boasts the lowest total on the Week 8 board.

Oddsmakers initially set the Over/Under at 36 points, with some early action pushing it up to as high as 37 points at more astute sportsbooks. Notably, Covers Consensus indicates that 62% of bettors are favoring the Under on this relatively low number.

The Jets' defense has been performing commendably, ranking 11th in Defensive DVOA overall. Their defensive strength has been bolstered in recent games, with their offense contributing significantly. Over the past three games, they've placed 10th in EPA allowed per play since Week 4. The Jets have also demonstrated a sturdy run defense, ranking sixth in EPA allowed per handoff. They will face a Giants offense that heavily relied on running back Saquon Barkley in their last outing, handing him the ball 21 times.

As for the Giants, their defensive strategy revolves around an aggressive pass rush. Defensive coordinator Wink Martindale has orchestrated blitzes on nearly 42% of dropbacks, marking the third-highest blitz rate in the league. This relentless pressure has resulted in 11 sacks, and Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, in contrast, ranks 37th among all QBs versus the blitz at PFF, completing only 62.5% of passes.

In conclusion, we're leaning toward the Jets to cover the spread, and they are currently priced at -335 to do so. This game promises a gritty defensive battle and a thrilling showdown between New York's football giants.

August 24, 2023

As we approach the final week of the preseason, the intensity amps up with teams aiming to replicate a genuine game week experience during practices. Starters are anticipated to partake in a few drives, with some even logging significant playing time in the first half. This unique setup provides bettors with a chance to assess preseason action more closely to regular games.

Considering this context, the Pittsburgh Steelers emerge with a distinct advantage in terms of offensive prowess. Kenny Pickett's performance has been nothing short of impressive throughout the month, exhibiting sharpness and synchronization with George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth. The chemistry established poses a formidable challenge to the Falcons' defense, which harbors uncertainties in their secondary department.

While the Atlanta Falcons boast a formidable running game that could potentially rank among the NFL's finest, the spotlight shines on rookie running back Bijan Robinson, anticipated to deliver an exhilarating season. Complemented by a robust ensemble of supporting backs, the Falcons' ground game stands out. However, in the scope of this particular game, with projections of limited action for the Atlanta first-team offense, skepticism surrounds Desmond Ridder. His relatively limited exposure last season, primarily backing up Marcus Mariota, prompts a need for more substantial evidence before endorsing him in a scenario that closely resembles regular-season action.

Comparing coaching expertise, Mike Tomlin indisputably holds the upper hand. Additionally, in the quarterback realm, Kenny Pickett emerges as the stronger contender. Thus, the Steelers are poised to conclude the preseason on a high note, ready to handle their business. However, a noteworthy aspect is Taylor Heinicke's potential to keep the contest competitive enough for the Falcons to cover the 5.5 point spread. This spread is our focal point for strategic engagement in this matchup.

In essence, while the Steelers are likely to maintain control, there's a plausible scenario where Atlanta manages to capitalize on the backdoor opportunity during the fourth quarter. With this in mind, our approach involves targeting the spread as a tactical maneuver. We opt to secure Atlanta +5.5, acknowledging the potential for the Steelers to inadvertently leave an opening for Atlanta to make a late-game surge.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Indianapolis Colts -5.0 Spread (-115)

As we gear up for an exciting Colts vs. Eagles matchup, there's been a notable buzz surrounding the reigning NFC Champions receiving points on their home turf. However, it might be wise to consider an alternative perspective.

While the Eagles managed to hold their ground with a tie in their recent outing, it's apparent that this team might not place a high priority on the preseason. Their approach seems to lean towards preserving key players for the regular season, which could translate to a lack of significance in this game's lineup.

Taking a closer look at the quarterback situation, it's evident that Marcus Mariota's performance has left much to be desired. With Tanner McKee as the primary Eagles QB concern, the quarterback competition seems to be tilting in favor of the Colts.

Shifting focus to the Colts, their previous performance showcased a solid performance, bolstering their position as a team with numerous positional battles yet to be resolved. Notably, the Colts are deploying their top-tier players for this matchup, underlining their intention to optimize their preseason games.

Anthony Richardson has been tapped as the starter for the Colts in this encounter. Meanwhile, Sam Ehlinger is set to follow, and his recent impressive display against the Bears suggests he's honing his skills effectively.

Given the insights at hand, it's advisable to consider a play on the Colts while negating the points. This decision stems from the Colts' determination to field a competitive roster, coupled with the uncertainties in the Eagles' approach. Keep a close eye on this matchup as it unfolds, as it could provide a clearer picture of these teams' preseason strategies.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Commanders NFL Preseason Week 2 Analysis: Odds, Selections, and Projections

Get ready for an exciting showdown as the Baltimore Ravens take on the Washington Commanders in Week 2 of the NFL Preseason. The Ravens are known for their incredible 24-game winning streak in preseason games, which goes all the way back to 2015. This is a huge challenge for the Commanders and a chance to break the Ravens' streak.

The Ravens are the favorites in this matchup, with odds giving them a 1.5-point advantage over the Commanders. Even though the Ravens' star quarterback Lamar Jackson won't be playing much, their track record shows they can still do well under their coach John Harbaugh.

In terms of betting, things have been interesting. The Ravens started as favorites by 3 points, but that has changed to 1.5 points. Surprisingly, even though most people are betting on the Ravens, the odds have shifted in favor of the Commanders. The Commanders' chances have gone from an opening of +130 to +110. This indicates that more people are now believing in the Commanders' potential to challenge the Ravens. The expected total points scored has also gone down a bit, from 38.5 to 38.

It's not just about the odds and stats though. The Commanders' players are motivated to end the Ravens' streak, and that adds extra excitement to the game.

On the field, key players won't be playing much for the Ravens, including Lamar Jackson. This gives a chance for other quarterbacks like Josh Johnson and Anthony Brown to shine. The Commanders have their own quarterback decisions to make, with Sam Howell taking the lead over Jacoby Brissett.

Looking back, the Ravens have had the upper hand against the Commanders in recent preseason games. But things can change, and this match could be a turning point.

Both coaches, John Harbaugh for the Ravens and Ron Rivera for the Commanders, have their own strategies and experience that will come into play.

In the end, here's a prediction: Despite the odds favoring the Ravens, there's a belief that the Commanders might surprise everyone. With Lamar Jackson not playing much and the Commanders' determination, they might just pull off a close game or even a win. So, the pick for this match is the Washington Commanders with a 1.5-point advantage. Get ready for an exciting game!
